priya r asked:

Should dry food ingredients like sugar, coffee powder, tea powder, chilly powder , nuts, flour etc be stored only in food safe plastics ? Or any plastic container is alright? I am concerned about plastic leaching into ingredients, which may cause serious health issues. I know it is not good to store cooked food in non safe plastic containers. But does it hold the same for dry food ingredients also? Clarify please.

I live here in El Paso, TX and it really gets hot in the summer, what are the things that can easily get damaged in that kind of weather? I put most of my stuff in carton boxes and some in large plastic storage containers. My husband wil be deploying soon for 15 months, and I will be moving out of the city. Whar are things that we should take in consideration when storing our electronics, matresses, furniture?

If you’ve used a brand, or know someone who has, what do you recommend? Mostly, am trying to keep dust mites out of linens, and infrequently used blankets, clothes, tablecloths and clothes. Have washed them in De-Mite, will this suffocate remaining mites? Don’t suggest $800 dry steamer! Too $$!! Thanks

Can I start vegetable plants from seeds using a plastic storage bin as a greenhouse?

rubeninfl asked:

I want to start tomato and pepper plants from seeds to plant later next month. I live in NE Florida and we’re already having days in the 80’s. I bought some peat pots and seed starting medium. I want to know if I can put the pots in a clear, see through plastic storage tub and put them out in the middle of my yard. I think they’ll get about 11-12 hours of sunlight right now and I think the moisture should be fine with the lid on. the tub is about 1.5 feet x 3 feet and clear plastic.

I’m trying to save some money starting my plants from seeds. Last year I bought plants from the nursery and I think it would have been more cost effective to buy fresh vegetables from the grocery store.

Any Suggestions, comments?
There is about a foot of clearance in the tub for the seedling to grow
And I will drill a few little holes on each side for venilation
